Mo was a wonderful father to three wonderful women, and he will be deeply missed by them and by everyone who knew him.
To me, Mo was a fantastic man, a man who always put his family first and nearly always had a good word to say about everyone.
I will deeply miss our 6:30 pm small whiskies, although Mo’s measurements were usually a little larger than normal. I’ll miss our chats and his incredible knowledge of the past, especially when it came to TV and movie actors. He’d tell me something I didn’t know, get me to Google it , and he was always right.
I did beat him to the answer sometimes but not often.
We both loved western movies, although it’s fair to say Mo loved them more than I did. So much so that he often made me watch the same scene so many times that I’d seen it more often than the whole movie , but that was Mo.
Mo also made me suffer at times. He loved his remote control and had a habit of rewinding programs back and forth. He’d say, “Wayne, I’ve recorded more Texas Ranger,” which we’d watch together, but it was always touch and go whether I’d actually get to see the ending. Sometimes he’d forget to record part two.
That was alright though, because we’d just start another series ,only to realise at the end that we’d actually watched the second half of part two and missed part one altogether. But we still had our whisky, so it all worked out in the end.
Mo, you are and always will be a legend.
Just one thing , Mo, if you can hear me up there, please give my regards to Sindy, who you’re with now.
And one more thing… could you tell me where the remote control is?
